This Mass. town is rated the third-best place to live in the U.S.
From the 1800s until the 1940s, it was a summer resort town where people would come to relax by the natural, springfed Lake Massapoag.
But a recent ranking from Money shows that, over the years, Sharon, Mass. has become a desirable place to live year-round. In fact, Money said it’s the third best place to live in the U.S., behind Apex, North Carolina, and Papillion, Nebraska.
In the write-up, Money said the Boston ’burb took one of the top spots because of its convenient location for commuting to both Boston and Providence, as well as its stellar public school system and diverse community. Sharon is home to nine churches, seven synagogues, and one of New England’s largest mosques.
Money also pointed out that, when compared to suburbs closer to Boston, Sharon has larger, newer homes. But they aren’t cheap. The median home price is $450,856.
Sharon was rated the No. 1 place to live in 2013, but didn’t make the top 10 in 2014. If you think Sharon deserves to be ranked No. 1 again, you can vote for it as you favorite town here. Because, come on, guys. We can beat North Carolina and Nebraska.
