MIT uses robot bartenders to get the party started
MIT scientists have taken a step toward alleviating long lines of frustrated bar patrons at a watering hole near you.
According to BetaBoston, MIT researchers have created a team of “Beerbots.’’ The team consists of one large double-armed bot, the bartender, and two smaller “turtle bots,’’ the servers.
Last year, an Italian team, Makr Shakr, debuted robots that mixed drinks and placed them on a conveyor belt for patrons on a cruise ship. MIT’s bots, however, work together. They also deliver the drinks, and are prepared for errors such as bottle drops and wrong orders, BetaBoston reports.
