Four overnight shootings in three cities left five people dead and two others injured.

Shortly before 9 p.m. a male passenger in a car was struck by multiple gunshots in Kendall Square, Cambridge. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital, police said. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.

An hour later, Boston police officers responded to a call in Mattapan, where they found three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Authorities said one of those victims, a male in his twenties, was pronounced dead, while the other two are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

In nearby Roxbury, two people were fatally shot, a Boston police spokeswoman confirmed.

Early Thursday morning in the city of Everett, a woman was fatally shot at the Braza Bar and Grill, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

Authorities believe the victim, identified as 21-year-old Ashlee Berryman, of Malden, was an unintended target in the shooting, according to the DA’s statement.

No arrests have been made in connection with any of the incidents.

“I am extremely saddened and disturbed by the violence that took place overnight in our community; this has to stop,’’ Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said in a statement. “It is my utmost priority to ensure the safety of our residents and it is important that we continue to work together with families and youth throughout our neighborhoods, to get them on alternative pathways to success. I express my deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were lost during these senseless acts of violence.’’
