There’s something funny about Mayor Walsh’s new house
Have you seen Mayor Marty Walsh’s new house? You may have heard by now he bought a new place in Boston’s Lower Mills neighborhood. If you’re really nosey, you can take a look at the place using Google Maps. It’s at 2 Butler Street.
It’s really easy to spot; it’s the one with the “John Connolly for Mayor’’ sign in the yard.
The mayor’s press office confirmed to Boston.com that Walsh is in the process of purchasing the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom property in the former “center of the chocolate universe,’’ but wouldn’t comment on the unfortunate signage.
The image was likely taken sometime in 2013 when the mayoral election race was still going. A Google spokeswoman told Boston.com, “Updating our Street View imagery is something we do from time to time as part of our effort to provide users with the most up-to-date maps possible.’’
They continued, “We can’t say with certainty when we’ll be in a given location because routes are subject to change based on factors like weather, driving conditions, and speed of collection. On the bright side, though, at least it’s not a Yankees banner.’’
Mayor Walsh also made news this week by retracting the Olympic bid. Here’s what Boston would’ve looked like had the Olympics come to the city.
