Dozens of law enforcement officials and reporters converged at an apartment building in Dorchester on Friday morning for a possible break in the Baby Doe case.

On August 20, Lorraine Noel tended to the Deer Island memorial for Baby Doe, a young girl whose body was found on the Boston Harbor island on June 25. Her body was found inside a bag that also contained a black and white zebra-print blanket.

Winthrop detectives knocked on doors August 4, following up on a tip that a child was seen in a nearby park who matched Baby Doe’s description.

Officials believe the brown-haired, brown-eyed girl was about 4 years old and are hoping the information generates clues about her identity.
