A WBZ-TV reunion on anchor’s last day: “Liz Walker and Bob Lobel surprised Jack Williams Thursday night, joining him for his last WBZ Channel 4 broadcast and a special tribute to his 40 years at the station. ‘You said I wouldn’t last,’ Williams joked as he reunited with his former news partners. ‘He’ll be back tomorrow night,’ Lobel quipped. Court offers spanking guidelines: “ Massachusetts’ highest court for the first time established legal guidelines Thursday for the use of physical punishment by parents, saying it’s permissible to discipline a child by spanking so long as ‘‘reasonable’’ force is used and the child is not harmed.
The Supreme Judicial Court issued the framework while reversing the assault and battery conviction of a Brockton man who had been seen by police spanking his almost 3-year-old daughter near a bus station.’’ (The Associated Press)
The Massachusetts congressional delegation is sick of Logan delays too: “The tremendous influx of new overseas flights into Boston is producing bottlenecks at Logan Airport’s international terminal, with travelers increasingly facing waits to clear US Customs that can stretch to several hours.
The growing delays prompted the Massachusetts congressional delegation on Thursday to send a letter to the Department of Homeland Security complaining about ‘unacceptable’ wait times and questioning why Logan has not received additional agents, as have other airports around the country.
