Soon, only Hilltop Steakhouse’s cactus will remain

Our readers have been asking: Why is the now demolished Hilltop Steakhouse’s chimney still standing?
The answer is: It won’t be for long.
The chimney is set to come down within the week, Dennis January, a spokesperson for the owners of the site, told Boston.com.
As for the cactus, January told the Saugus Historical Commission in early April that there is a plan to preserve the 68-foot sign as part of the site’s redevelopment, according to a report by the Saugus Advertiser.
