Connor Darcey.
Connor Darcey, the starting lacrosse goalie at Penn State, was one of two men killed early Friday morning when a BMW convertible was involved in a rollover crash in Boston’s North End neighborhood, according to The Boston Globe. He was 21.
The other man, who police had not identified as of Friday night, was 27. Both he and Darcey were pronounced dead at the scene, according to The Globe. A third man in the car was injured.
Darcey, a two-time All-American lacrosse player at Wellesley High School, was named to the Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse All-Tournament Team this past season as a redshirt sophomore.
Penn State Athletics released the following statement Friday:
“Our hearts go out to Connor Darcey’s family, teammates, friends and everyone who knew him. It’s a very sad day. The Penn State family has suffered a tremendous loss and we are deeply saddened. Our thoughts and prayers are with Connor’s family, friends, fellow students and the men’s lacrosse family.’’
