Elizabeth Warren nails down why banking CEOs dislike her

Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s battle with Wall Street gets personal.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren had a concise response to JP Morgan CEO’s criticism.

In the ever-running battle between Sen. Elizabeth Warren and the American financial industry, the put-downs got personal in the past few days.

“I don’t know if she fully understands the global banking system,’’ JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon said of Sen. Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday.

That harsh comment did not go over well with the Massachusetts senator, who has risen to prominence due to her vocal attempts to curtail Wall Street. Warren responded in kind on Friday in a conversation with The Huffington Post.

“The problem is not that I don’t understand the global banking system,’’ she said. “The problem for these guys is that I fully understand the system, and I understand how they make their money, and that’s what they don’t like about me.’’

Warren was also asked whether she thought Dimon’s comments were a form of “mansplaining,’’ referring to the practice of boorish men who condescendingly correct and “actually’’ women in conversation.

“We’ll have to call in a mansplaining expert to figure that one out,’’ she said with a laugh.
