Authorities arrested a suspect in Everett on Tuesday night in connection with the police shooting of a 26-year-old Roslindale man, who was under 24-hour surveillance by an anti-terrorism task force, Christina DiIorio-Sterling, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s office, told The Boston Globe.

David Wright, of Everett, was federally charged, she said. According to the Associated Press, he is scheduled to appear in U.S. District Court today.

DiIorio-Sterling refused to provide the specific charges Tuesday night—however, a law enforcement official told The Globe that Wright had planned to kill a law enforcement officer.

FBI agents and Boston police officers shot and killed Usaama Rahim Tuesday morning outside a Roslindale CVS after Rahim approached them with a large knife, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force had been watching Rahim, he said.
