Report: Man on trial for murder attempts suicide
Accused murderer Edwin J. Alemany tried to hang himself in his cell at Suffolk County Jail over the weekend but was not physically harmed, according to The Boston Globe.
Alemany stands accused of abducting and killing Amy Lord during a 20-hour violent spree in July 2013, during which he also is accused of attacking two women in South Boston. TheGlobe said Alemany has tried to harm himself while in custody on other occasions.
Testimony resumed Monday in the case with Alemany present. Proceedings were delayed last week after Alemany’s lawyers said he was too ill to appear in court.
