The event includes 100-, 50-, and 20-mile bike races and a 5K run and walk, and supports Best Buddies International, a non-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with intellectual abilities. It began Friday night with a flag football game hosted by the reigning Super Bowl MVP, who is also an honorary co-chairman for the group.

Brady, who usually speaks to the media during the event, did not do so this year. He is currently appealing his four-game suspention after the NFL found he was “generally aware’’ the Patriots deliberately deflated footballs during the AFC Championship game last season.
