Surveillance video shows 7-year-old shot in Dorchester
Surveillance video obtained by The Boston Globe shows the shooting of 7-year-old Divan Silva, who was hit Sunday while riding his bicycle past a barbershop in Dorchester.
The video, published by The Globe on Tuesday, shows Silva falling off his cousin’s bicycle after being shot in the buttocks. He then rolls over onto the sidewalk until his mother, Dijanira DeAndrade, arrives and picks him up.
Silva, who lives in Brockton, was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital. His father said Monday that he underwent surgery. He was listed in good condition Tuesday, The Globe reports.
A 20-year-old male was also grazed in the head in the Bowdoin Street shooting. Police told Boston.com on Sunday that a teenage male suspect fled the scene on foot.
