7-year-old boy shot in Dorchester
A 7-year-old boy and another victim were shot in Dorchester on Sunday afternoon.
According to Boston Police, the child was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old man was grazed as well and taken to Boston Medical Center for treatment. Both were shot on Bowdoin Street around 4:15 p.m., according to a Boston police spokeswoman.
Boston police Superintendent-in-Chief William Gross said the child was shot in the buttocks while riding his bicycle, according to a Boston Globe report. The boy was visiting relatives who live nearby.
The suspect fled the scene on foot and was described by police as a light-skinned male in a red sweatshirt and tan pants.
