Fist-bumping Bruins kid named ‘Man of the Year,’ raises the roof
Ever since we saw him fist-bumping Bruins players, we’ve known 9-year-old Liam Fitzgerald is “the man’’—but now, it’s official.
Liam, who has Down syndrome and “kicked cancer’s butt’’ in 2013, was named The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man of the Year’’ on Thursday night. Liam earned the title by raising over $150,000 for blood cancer research, in part through his #BumpOutCancer hashtag on Twitter.
How did Liam celebrate? By dancing to his favorite song (“Uptown Funk’’ by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars) with his “Proud Mama Bear,’’ Christine Fitzgerald, of course.

The Bruins congratulated Liam, who was USA Today’s 2014 Sports Fan of the Year and even has his own hockey card.

And because we just can’t get enough, here’s the video of Liam fist-bumping the Bruins once again.
