Get your John Hancock on the USS Constitution: “The main focus of the [ship’s] restoration will be replacing 3,400 sheets of copper that protect the ship’s hull below the waterline … The new copper sheets are being housed at the USS Constitution Museum, where visitors can sign them in Sharpie marker all summer before they are installed on the ship. With 3,400 sheets, there is room for a lot of signatures.’’ (The Boston Globe)

No one is buying JFK’s old sailboat at auction – yet: “But [current owner Frank] Harvey thinks that Flash II is worth a million dollars, too—a figure largely based on Kennedy nostalgia. … That romantic patina was not enough to move the boat, however.
