Car wash visit goes terribly wrong; Porsche destroyed

Gearheads, avert your eyes. Orleans Police

Do you think they can buff it out?

Orleans Police were called to the scene of a minor car crash at the Olde Cape Car Wash around noon Thursday. But things took a quick turn for the worse in the meantime, with the business’s roof collapsing and destroying the sports car that hit one of its support beams.

Police said a preliminary investigation suggested that the vehicle accelerated before hitting the pole.

The driver, 73-year-old Job Taylor, was not in the vehicle at the time of the collapse. He was treated for minor injuries at the scene, according to police.

No charges were filed against the driver Thursday, though police said the incident remains under investigation.

The car, a 2014 Porsche 911 convertible, retails for upwards of $90,000.

Taylor did not return messages seeking comment.
