The guy who broke into a woman’s house in Rhode Island is a real turkey. No, seriously, he is a real turkey.

Nancy Page of Warwick came home last week to find that a bird typically accompanied by cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving tables had flown through the window of her bathroom and accidentally turned on the water, which ran for hours before Page got home.

In addition to the water pouring through her ceiling, there were also feathers and glass all over the bathroom. Page, unsure of what to do, called 911.

“My emergency was water gushing through the ceiling… and a turkey in my bathroom,’’ Page told ABC 6 news. “She [the dispatcher] said, ‘What?’ And I said it again, and said, ‘This really is true.’’’

Police, firefighters, and the Department of Environmental Management showed up and took the bird outside. The turkey, requiring only a few nudges, stood up and left the premises, seemingly unharmed.

The story is already gobbling up media attention (sorry, had to do it).
