Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for a man who escaped from police at Massachusetts General Hospital early Saturday morning.

Mose Tene, 28, of Chelsea, got into a one-car crash just after midnight Friday, police said, and was taken to MGH with non-life threatening injuries.

As it turns out, Tene was not properly licensed, had warrants out against him, and was driving a car that had been reported stolen, according to police.

Tene couldn’t be booked at police headquarters, so, as per police protocol, an officer was put in place to keep an eye on him at the hospital until booking or an arraignment could take place.

At about 6 a.m. Saturday, police said Tene managed to escape his room.

Though police do not believe Tene poses a threat to the public, they ask anyone who may spot him to call police immediately.
