A Cambridge man already jailed in the bizarre case of a human torso found in a duffel bag is now charged with murder, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office announced today.

Carlos Colina, 32, was arrested over the weekend after police found a dismembered body in a bag along a Cambridge street. More body parts were found at Colina’s apartment building nearby, police said.

Colina and the victim, Jonathan Camilien, 26, were seen together in the area on surveillance video before the bag was discovered. When they went to Colina’s apartment, police said they found Colina scrubbing his home with a vacuum cleaner bleach.

Colina pleaded not guilty in Cambridge District Court on Monday on charges of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and improper disposal of a body. He is being held on $1 million cash bail.

He will be arraigned on the murder charge on Tuesday. Colina will plead not guilty, defense attorney John H. Cunha told Boston.com today.

Cunha said he couldn’t discuss the case, and didn’t know how Camilien and Colina knew each other.
