N.H. Senate Aide Charged With Soliciting Prostitute, Resigns

A senior aide to Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire resigned after he was charged with soliciting a prostitute, The Boston Globe reports.

Ayotte said in a statement she had accepted David Wihby’s resignation and was “shocked and deeply saddened.’’

In addition to working as Ayotte’s state director for the past year, Wihby, 61, has served as a member of the Manchester, N.H., schoool board. He is also a former Manchester alderman.

Wihby did not immediately return a call or email for comment Sunday.
