Sleeping Passenger Allegedly Assaults MBTA Worker

Dion Stickter, 45, of Boston. MBTA Transit Police

An MBTA employee who attempted to wake a sleeping passenger at the last stop on an Orange Line train last night was immediately attacked by the man, transit police say. Dion Stickter, 45, of Boston, allegedly punched the employee several times in her torso immediately after she woke him at the Forest Hills station.

Officers responded around 9:40 p.m., and say Stickter was “hostile’’ and shouted racial slurs at them. He was taken into custody at Transit Police headquarters for assault and battery on a public employee and trespassing.

This is the first instance of physical abuse on a public employee reported by transit police since a passenger spit on a bus driver in early January. Stickter is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court today.
