Defense Rests Its Case in Boston Marathon Bombing Trial
After calling four witnesses in two days, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s attorneys rested their case Tuesday in the Boston Marathon bombing trial. The prosecution rested its case on Monday after calling 92 witnesses over 15 days.
Around noon Tuesday, the defense announced they had called all their witnesses, but sidebars and recesses interrupted the proceedings after the defense asked to introduce a series of photos to the jury without calling a witness.
The trial will resume with closing arguments on Monday.
After closing arguments, the jury will retire to deliberate.
Tsarnaev’s defense team has already filed a motion for acquittal, a standard practice in many criminal defense proceedings.
