Police Arrest Former Restaurant Employee for Allegedly Placing Camera in Bathroom
Brookline Police have arrested a former Zaftigs Delicatessen employee for allegedly placing a camera in the handicapped bathroom at the restaurant’s Coolidge Corner location, according to a statement. Rogerio Sores-Fernandes, 38, of Allston, turned himself in Thursday morning after police issued a warrant for his arrest.
Sores-Fernandes was charged with photographing an unsuspecting nude person. The incident occured in August 2014 when Sores-Fernandes was a Zaftigs employee, according to police.
Detectives began investigating the case on Monday after police received a tip from Fox 25 that someone had placed a camera in the bathroom a few months ago.
Zaftigs management declined to talk to police on Tuesday, directing questions to a lawyer. A manager declined to comment to Boston.com when reached by phone Wednesday.
