Local Restaurant Bathroom May Have Had Hidden Camera
Patrons at Zaftigs Delicatessen in Coolidge Corner may not have had the privacy they assumed when using the restroom, according to police.
Brookline Police are investigating whether a hidden camera was placed in a bathroom at the restaurant, according to a statement from Lieutenant Philip Harrington. Police received a tip about the camera from Fox 25 on Monday.
“Based upon the tip and preliminary information that has been obtained, the incident happened a few months ago and an employee was involved who no longer works there,’’ Harrington said.
When police arrived Tuesday, Zaftigs management declined to talk and directed questions to a lawyer, according to the statement. A Zaftigs manager reached by phone Wednesday declined to comment. Police also declined to comment Wednesday, other than the statement.
Detectives have started an investigation and no arrests have been made.
