West Roxbury Blaze Burns Firefighter, Drives 4 From Home
A firefighter was treated for minor burns and a home was left uninhabitable after a fire in West Roxbury that was driven by Sunday’s high winds, fire officials said.

Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald told Boston.com that the firefighter who was burned was taken to Faulkner Hospital for treatment. Two other firefighters were injured and hospitalized for evaluation, but MacDonald said their injuries were not life-threatening.
He said four residents had to find temporary housing because their roof was burned off. The Red Cross may be called in to help if the residents find themselves in need of other housing, he added.

The damage was estimated at $750,000, he said.
Firefighters responded around 1:10 p.m. to the 2-alarm blaze at the two-family home, MacDonald said. The fire appeared to have started in the rear of the house, and high winds took the blaze through the attic, burning the roof from rear to front, he said.
