Congrats, Massachusetts: Vice Doesn’t Think You’re Sad

Whether they’re praising our first-in-the-nation poop bank or showcasing our local public access TV talent, the arbiters of cool at Vice Magazine occasionally step down from their Brooklyn perches to give some love to Massa-freaking-chusetts.

And now, they’ve done it again, this time with their definitive ranking of “Which State’s Price-Related Googling is the Saddest?’’

The list tracked who Googles what prices in each state, and deemed our Google consumer habits the “least sad’’ of those in all 50 states.

(Which is not to say we’re the happiest. Or even happy. But hey, it’s something).

The post used a map, originally developed by the price search website Fixr, that shows how Google auto-completes the phrase “How much does *blank* cost’’ in each state.

The Googlers interested in Massachusetts prices most frequently search for the cost of “The T,’’ our beloved transit system, according to Fixr.
