NH Skier Dies in 60-foot Fall at Make-A-Wish Event
A skier died Monday morning after falling from a 60-foot drop at Wildcat Mountain in New Hampshire.
Samuel Moore, 34, of North Conway, New Hampshire, was participating in a Make-A-Wish fundraising event at about 9:30 a.m. when he lost control near the bottom of the Lower Polecat trail in the 5 Corners area, New Hampshire State Police said. Moore, who was wearing a helmet, fell and tumbled off the trail and over the fatal drop. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The fundraiser was the 12th annual 100,000 Vertical Foot Challenge, and the event was open to skiers and riders of all abilities, according to SkiWildcat.com.
