All Horses Rescued in Norwell Barn Collapse
Update (11:45 a.m.): Norwell Fire Chief Andrew Reardon told Boston.com that all the horses are okay after being rescued this morning. He said some did suffer “superficial’’ injuries, but all left the scene under their own power. Reardon also corrected that there was a total number of 14 horses trapped, not 15 as previously reported. The collapse has so far been attributed to the weight of the snow on the roof, Reardon said. The building department will be taking the building apart, but Reardon said they were “pretty confident’’ the snow was the cause.
Update (9:30 a.m.): All horses have been safely rescued, according to the Norwell Fire Department’s Twitter account.
Update (9:15 a.m.): Two of the remaining ten trapped horses have been rescued, according to the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team Twitter account.
