Hernandez and Friends Racked up $273.75 Bar Tab the Night of Alleged Murder

In an attempt to illustrate Aaron Hernandez’s mental state the night Odin Lloyd was killed, prosecutors showed the jury the former Patriot tight end’s $273.45 bar tab hours before the alleged murder.

Hernandez, his fiancee and four other friends were at the South Street Cafe in Providence June 16, 2013 from 9:37 p.m. to 12:18 a.m. to celebrate Father’s Day.

The receipt shows 11 Hennessy cognacs, 10 Sex on the Beach drinks, seven Bud Lights and two orders of Grey Goose vodka for the party of six. However, one of the members, Vanessa Sanchez, testified Wednesday that she didn’t drink.

The group also ordered 30 wings, two orders of baked stuffed shrimp, and crab cakes.

The receipt shows that Hernandez, who paid for the entire group, tipped $30 — 12.3 percent — on the $273.45 bill.

The bar manager also testified Thursday that she saw Hernandez smoking marijuana outside on the corner with another man and that he repeatedly left and reentered the restaurant. Prosecutors say that Hernandez was in contact with Lloyd starting around 9 p.m. and that he left his North Attleborough home to pick up Lloyd around 1 a.m.

Lloyd was allegedly murdered around 3:30 a.m., June 17, 2013.
