City Closed 9,000 Snow Complaints by Mistake
Earlier this (never-ending, snow-bound) month, the city erroneously closed more than 9,000 snow-related complaints filed through services like Citizens Connect and the city’s 24-hour hot line, The Boston Globe reports.
The complaints were cleared over a two-hour period on February 12, after which their filers received notifications saying that the snow was removed. In many cases, however, it was not. Mayor Marty Walsh apologized for the error.
“It was a mistake,’’ Walsh told The Globe. “A staffer — I’m not sure who it was — automatically just closed all these cases with the anticipation of a new storm coming. They shouldn’t have done it.’’
