20 Cars Involved in Route 128 Crash
Massachusetts State Police are investigating a multi-car crash on Route 128 southbound in Waltham. Troopers in the Concord barracks received reports about the crash around 2:45 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to a statement by police.
The crash may include as many as 20 vehicles, though police report that all apparent injuries are minor. The statement by police says a snow squall may have contributed to the crash.
The crash occurred north of Exit 27 in Waltham. Police said all southbound travel lanes were initially closed, though they have been able to get three lanes reopened by 4 p.m., but are asking drivers to stay away from area to allow access for emergency vehicles. The Waltham and Lexington Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
