Update: While Saturday’s 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. “Frozen’’ shows will go on as planned, TD Garden announced that it would let Sunday’s performances go.

In an update posted on its website Saturday afternoon, the venue said:

“Due to the snow emergency issued for Sunday, February 15, the performances of Disney On Ice presents Frozen scheduled for Sunday, February 15 at 1PM and 5PM have been POSTPONED.’’

Guests with tickets for Sunday’s 1 p.m. show will be transferred to Sunday, February 22 at 9:30 a.m., while those with tickets for the 5 p.m. show will be transferred to Wednesday, February 18 at 6 p.m.

Initial post: With another blizzard bearing down on Boston this weekend, the city has declared a snow emergency, scheduled a parking ban, and turned some South Boston streets into one-way routes.

The MBTA won’t operate its late night service Saturday (or at all on Sunday). Valentine’s Day has been all but canceled in the city and replaced with the distinctly less romantic “Valentine’s Week.’’

One thing this weather can’t stop, however, is the Disney On Ice rendition of “Frozen,’’ which began a 20-show run at TD Garden on Friday that will last until February 22. TD Garden said that the show, produced by Feld Entertainment, will go on.

“Please be advised that all Disney On Ice presents Frozen Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt shows will go on as scheduled,’’ the venue said on its website Friday. “We urge families to allow extra time for travel and parking.’’

The Garden’s statement also said that it will post any updates to its website and Facebook page.

Commenters on the TD Garden’s Facebook page and Twitter feed weren’t too pleased with the decision, given the dangerous driving conditions predicted for this weekend and the T’s Sunday service suspension.

Ill-advised or not, the decision is ironically appropriate, given the fact that our world is looking a lot like Arendelle. Unlike in the movie, however, no act of love can save us from the snow and the cold.
