State Trooper Helps Deliver Baby on Storrow Drive
The latest Boston-area snowstorm wasn’t going to stop one special delivery from happening early Tuesday morning.
According to a report on the Massachusetts State Police website, a Revere couple was driving to the hospital with the woman in labor. While traveling along Storrow Drive, it became clear the baby was coming and they weren’t going to make it to the hospital.
The male driver stopped the car, called 911, then flashed his lights when he saw an approaching state police cruiser.
Trooper Patrick Devin assisted in the delivery of a baby boy, according to the report. He relayed to dispatch that the baby was born safely and he wrapped the newborn in a blanket. EMS arrived a short time later to assist.
