Snowy Footprints Lead Worcester Police To Robbery Suspect
One thing this endless snow is good for? Helping police (literally) track down a robbery suspect.
Worcester Police responded to a robbery at Three G’s Sports Bar at 152 Millbury Street in the city around 1 a.m. Monday. An employee there said a man had just jumped over the bar and stolen some money, which the employee had been putting in a bag.
The suspect grabbed the bag and pushed the employee to the ground before fleeing through a back door, police said. Detailed descriptions of both the suspect and the stolen bag of cash were given to police.
Officers discovered fresh footprints in the snow outside the back door, spaced in such a way as to indicate running, according to police. They followed the footprints to an apartment at 8 Meade Street and knocked on the door, which was ajar with the bag of stolen money in plain view, police said.
After making their presence known, police found the suspect, Jonathan Campbell, 31, who lived in the apartment. They recovered the money and placed Campbell under arrest, charging him with unarmed robbery and assault and battery.
