Baker: No Travel Ban, But Limited T Service Monday

There will be no statewide travel ban related to the snow expected through Tuesday morning, but during a Sunday afternoon press conference, Governor Charlie Baker urged employers to allow employees the option of working at home on Monday.

“Everyone stay off the streets unless you absolutely have to be somewhere,’’ he said.

Baker said the MBTA will operate on an abbreviated schedule on Monday, allowing “those who need to get around’’ the option. The truncated service schedule is outlined on the MBTA website.

Logan airport is expected to service a limited number of flights during the storm, according to Baker.

Baker said state plows have already moved enough snow to fill Gillette stadium 90 times. Baker said the concern now is not just over the new snow that’s falling, but the cumulative effect of all the snow received in recent weeks. He pointed out that many municipalities will continue to struggle with where to put the snow.
