North Andover Triple Murder Suspect Pleads Not Guilty
A North Andover man is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to a triple murder he allegedly told family members he committed. Salvatore Gugliemino, 57, was arraigned this morning after allegedly killing three elderly men inside their apartments at his housing complex yesterday.
Officials say Walter Hamilton, 78, George Kettinger, Jr., 79, and Francis Kort, 68, suffered blunt force trauma, primarily to their faces.
“I kicked down three doors and killed three people,’’ police allege Guglielmino told a family member, according to Fox Boston. “Their dead bodies are over there.’’
A family member told The Boston Globe that Guglielmino was on medication for bipolar disorder. “I don’t know what happened to him,’’ the suspect’s uncle, who lives in the apartment complex, said. “He wouldn’t hurt a fly.’’
Guglielmino interrupted his court proceedings this morning, shouting “that’s a mistake’’ as the clerk read the charges against him aloud. Family members have told reporters who reached out to them that Guglielmino is known as a “gentle giant’’ who took care of his mother and was a friend to many at the complex. He now faces three counts of murder.
