71 Cute as Heck Dachshunds Doing ‘Surprisingly’ Well After Rescue
Advocates said a group of 71 scrappy dachshunds are doing “surprisingly’’ well after they were rescued from a Westminster home this week.
The animals were voluntarily surrendered from the home at 21 Harrington Rd., with 60 temporarily adopted by MSPCA-Angell’s adoption centers in Boston and Methuen.
The majority of the dogs were found underweight with matted fur. Others were coated in urine and feces.
Still, animal care supervisor Amanda Laskoe said the dogs were making remarkable progress in their new home.

“Luckily and surprisingly these guys are doing really well behaviorally,’’ Laskoe told Boston.com. “A lot of them are right at the front of the kennel [and] really social.’’
Once the dogs undergo some basic medical procedures, the MSPCA will announce plans to allow members of the public to adopt the animals.
