I-93 Reopens After NH Pileups Involving 35 Cars, Vehicle Fire; No Serious Reported Injuries

UPDATE, 9:02 a.m., Jan. 3: Twelve people suffered various forms of injury from two separate pileups on Friday morning that involved 35 vehicles on I-93 North in Ashland, New Hampshire. The Associated Press reported that although one car ignited into flames, none of the injuries sustained were life threatening.

Original story: The New Hampshire State Police told Boston.com that crashes caused by a snow squall and involving 35 vehicles at two different scenes took place this morning around 9:45 a.m. on I-93 in Ashland north of exit 24.

New Hampshire State Police Lieutenant Jerome Maslan told Boston.com that, while the number of injuries was unknown, “none of the injuries reported are serious.’’

By 1:30 p.m., the road was cleared and reopened.

At one of the scenes, a car crashed under a tractor trailer, resulting in a vehicle fire.
