Springfield Man Leads Troopers on Late Night High-Speed Chase

High speed chases aren’t just for the big screen. At 1:06 a.m. a Springfield man stopped for speeding in Harvard drove away while the state trooper was speaking to him, according to State Police. The trooper returned to his car and pursued the 1998 Nissan Altima northbound on I-495 to Littleton, then southbound on I-495, eventually ending up on I-290 westbound.

The chase ended after troopers deployed a tire deflation device near exit 7 on I-290 westbound in Auburn, bringing the car to a safe stop. Dominic J. May, 20, of Springfield, was taken to the state police barracks in Leominster, where he was booked, State Police said.
