The final day to donate to the One Fund will be Monday, the organization announced today.

“As this holiday season draws near we wanted to again thank the thousands of generous donors who helped our community when it needed their support the most,’’ said Jim Gallagher, President of the One Fund Boston in a statement. “Now, after over a year and a half of operations we have completed our task. In this season of hope, it is our wish that a fund of this nature is never needed again.’’

The One Fund began on April 16, 2013 under the direction of Governor Deval Patrick and late Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. It quickly garnered support, becoming the go-to organization for donors looking to aid those affected by the Boston Marathon bombing.
