Suspect in Ranger Stabbings Arraigned and Held on $1 Million Bail
Bodio Hutchinson, the man arrested and charged with stabbing two park rangers, was held on $1 million bail at his December 2 Superior Court arraignment, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley. Hutchinson, 34, is charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder and single counts of assault and battery and aggravated assault and battery.
Hutchinson stabbed two park rangers on the afternoon of October 14, according to prosecutors. Sgt. Al Hurd, 46, and James Lunnin, 24, approached Hutchinson in the Boston Common and instructed him to put out his cigarette. According to prosecutors, Hutchinson lunged at Sgt. Al Hurd, 46, and James Lunnin, 24, after the pair approached him and asked he put out his cigarette. Both rangers survived the attack, though Hurd suffered critical injuries.
A Suffolk County Grand Jury indicted Hutchinson on November 24. He’s scheduled to appear in court January 6, 2015.
