Firefighters Battle 4-Alarm Blaze in Webster
Firefighters battled a 4-alarm blaze at a Prospect Street home in Webster Saturday night.
WHDH reports that the fire began around 5 p.m. but took over four hours to extinguish. Firefighters told the station that the house’s location on an uphill, narrow street complicated their efforts.
“On arrival, we had heavy fire on the first floor,’’ Webster Fire Chief Hickey told the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. “We knocked down the fire in the first floor but because of the balloon frame the fire made its way into the third floor and into the attic and went right across the third floor into the attic on the other side of building.’’

It is unclear whether any residents were home at the time of the fire. The Boston Globe reports that there were no injuries among responding firefighters.
