Woman Will Not Face Charges in Fatal Domestic Abuse Stabbing

A Dorchester woman who fatally stabbed her abusive boyfriend in July acted in self-defense and will not face any charges, the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office said today. Following an investigation, prosecutors decided that the woman – who has not been identified – acted in self-defense.

The July 31 altercation resulted in the death of Emmanuel Jeudi, 29. Authorities said he died of a single stab wound to the chest, which punctured his heart.

“There was no evidence of excessive force, premeditation, or malice,’’ District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement. “This was a case of a domestic violence victim protecting herself against serious injury or worse at the hands of her abuser inside her own home.’’

The woman had previously pursued a restraining order against Jeudi—who neighbors say physically abused her weekly – but dropped the order and all associated criminal assault charges soon after.

Conley said in a press release today that the investigation included witness interviews, forensic analysis of evidence, opinions of state pathologists, review of prior allegations of domestic violence involving the aggressor, and legal analysis by Suffolk homicide prosecutors.

“I just wanted to scare him, but he charged at me,’’ the 26-year-old told The Boston Globe in August. No charges were ever filed against the woman in question. According to The Globe she has two children, ages four and two. Jeudi was the father of the two-year-old.
