Teacher’s Aide Under Investigation for Allegedly Molesting 11-Year-Old Autistic Student

Parents of an 11-year-old autistic girl who said she was twice molested by a teacher’s aide at a Boston elementary school classroom expressed concern about other victims who may have been targeted.

“I just want to prevent this person from doing it to other kids,’’ the girl’s father told Fox 25 News. “There’s other classmates that my daughter has that are non-verbal that may have experienced something and they cannot express it.’’

A staff member at Higginson/Lewis K-8 School in Roxbury told administrators Thursday that she observed the man — not yet publicly identified — “interacting with a student in a way that made [the witness] uncomfortable.’’ The victim’s father told Fox 25 that the staff member rubbed the student’s genital area through her clothes inside of a busy classroom.

Police are investigating the allegations, according to a robocall sent to families by Principal Salesman-Oliver. The aide has been removed from the school.

“Obviously, we take this incredibly seriously,’’ she said in the recording. “We will always act quickly to protect students.’’
