Body Found in Saugus Woods Confirmed to Be Movie Prop, ‘Not a Real Body’
A team searching for a 25-year-old Swampscott woman found a body in the woods in Saugus Monday afternoon that turned out to be a movie prop. Investigators believed there was a chance the body belonged to Jamiee Mendez, who has not been seen since Thursday.
According to the Essex District Attorney’s Office, the body found in the Saugus woods was “not a real body.’’
“The bottom line is she has not been found yet,’’ Salem Police Chief Paul Tucker told The Salem News. “Kids were out in the woods in Saugus making a movie.’’
The police departments of Swampscott, Lynn, and Salem, along with the Massachusetts State Police, the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, and the Essex County District Attorney’s office continue the search for Jamiee Mendez. According to members of Mendez’s family, she was last seen with a “known sex offender.’’
