‘On Point’ Host Tom Ashbrook Announces Leave of Absence
‘On Point’ public radio host Tom Ashbrook announced today that he will take an extended leave of absence in the wake of his wife Danielle’s illness.
“My love is very, very ill,’’ the NPR host told his audience this morning. “It’s something she’s managed gracefully for years, but it’s just getting the better of her. I need to be with her. I am going to have to take a little time away to do that and to face what comes, with our family.’’
Ashbrook did not disclose the details of his wife’s condition, but assured listeners that he will be back and that “it won’t be long.’’
