Man Dies After Being Struck by Train at Haymarket
Orange Line trains were evacuated near Haymarket station Wednesday evening after a man was struck and trapped under a train. He later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.
Firefighters were able to pull the victim to safety after he was struck by the train around 5:30 p.m. It’s not yet clear why the man, described by police as “in his 40s,’’ was on the tracks. MBTA Transit Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Passengers were evacuated from stuck trains after responders cut power to the third rail.
Normal service has since resumed.
