Malden Man Indicted on Child Rape Charges

Thomas Vincent Rose. Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board

More than two months after he was arrested for enticement of a child, a 62-year-old Malden man has been charged with child rape and other related charges.

On a late night in July, police found Thomas Vincent Rose in his SUV with a 22-year-old woman and two teenagers, according to police. He was arrested for child enticement after one of those teens — a 15-year-old boy — said Rose offered him marijuana and alcohol and then “sought to engage in sexual relations,’’ police said.

Rose also tried to recruit the teenagers to become sex workers and sexually assaulted the 15-year-old victim, police said.

Last Wednesday, Rose was indicted in Suffolk County court on two counts of enticement of a child, two counts of human trafficking of a minor, one count of rape of a child, and one count of aggravated rape of a child, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley and Winthrop Police Chief Terence Delehanty.

Rose is listed as a Level III sex offender on Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board for previous convictions of rape in 1975 and of assault with intent to commit rape in 1988.

His bail was set at $250,000.
