Southbridge Child Rape Suspect May Be Coming Back East
A child rape suspect currently on the run from the law may be on his way back to his home state of Massachusetts, authorities say.
Last August, Gregory Lewis, 26, was released on $1,000 bail after being charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and two counts of statutory rape of a child.
A month later Lewis removed a court-ordered GPS device and went toNorth Carolina, where he allegedly kidnapped, robbed and assaulted a woman on September 23.
Authorities believe he then traveled to his parents’ Southbridge home on September 25 and allegedly assaulted his stepfather, stole a gun, and drove out of state in his parents’ car.
Since then, he’s been seen across the country, including: Denver(where he is accused of another kidnapping, robbery, and sexual assault); Portland, Oregon (where he is accused of forcing his way into a woman’s hotel room and sexually assaulting her); and Indianapolis. He was seen in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday night, according to WBZ. Massachusetts State Police believe his route is taking him eastward, and possibly back to Massachusetts, where he is currently number one on the state’s Most Wanted list.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, Lewis has allegedly committed at least six sexual assaults and robberies while on the run. He is considered armed and extremely dangerous.
Lewis is 6’2’’ and 270 pounds with brown hair and eyes. He has a tattoo of a shackled hand wielding a knife on his chest and a tattoo of a “demonic’’ woman on his left upper arm (pictured below). He is believed to be driving the blue 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee he allegedly took from his parents. State Police ask anyone who sees Lewis to call 911, and anyone with information about Lewis’ whereabouts to call 1-800-KAPTURE.
